Workflow for new patterns#

This is the workflow to follow when you design a pattern in Cromo Cloud and want to publish it on Ravelry once it's finalized. Each step notes which app you're working in.

  1. Cromo Cloud — Add a new pattern and give it a name, but don't spend time on any additional info yet, like a pattern description or a pattern picture (which you don't have yet anyway...) In draft mode, nobody but you can see the pattern entry. It's not visible in the Cromo Cloud library, only in your 'My patterns' section.

  2. CromoDesigner — Open your new pattern in CromoDesigner, set the size, and create your design. Once it's ready, you can generate a graphical chart and a written pattern for non-Cromo users (Cromo Cloud users will naturally prefer CromoViewer over written instructions).

  3. Ravelry — Publish your pattern on the Ravelry website, sharing it for free or selling it as you prefer. Use the same name as in Cromo Cloud (you can always change it there if needed). Add the detailed description, all the pattern info, and one or more pictures on the Ravelry pattern page. The chart and written pattern can be offered for download on the Ravelry pattern page.

  4. Cromo Cloud — After syncing with Ravelry as explained earlier, open the Patterns I designed tab and click Link on the freshly created pattern in order to link the Ravelry entry to your Cromo Cloud entry of the same name.

  5. Cromo Cloud — Open the pattern detail page in Cromo Cloud. You will see that it has automatically taken over the full description and the main image from Ravelry. Once you publish on Cromo Cloud, every visitor sees a button on your pattern page linking to your Ravelry page, where they can buy the pattern. Buyers can open it in CromoViewer as soon as they've also gone through the Sync with Ravelry procedure, which makes the pattern appear in their Patterns I acquired tab.
