Choose a subscription

Before you begin, there's one thing to know: while CromoViewer is free to use for anyone, we have chosen to make CromoDesigner available through a low-cost subscription, with plans starting at just €4. That will help covering the costs of running CromoDesigner and will make it possible to keep actively developing and improving the platform for mosaic crochet enthusiasts around the world.

The cheapest subscription is definitely suitable to get started. It's fully featured and will probably be sufficient for many, but let's give you a clear view on the differences between the two currently available CromoDesigner plans, which we called "Starter" (at €4/month or €20/year) and "Creator" (at €6/month or €30/year).

What's in each plan#

The Starter plan lets you create up to 5 patterns. When you publish a pattern, it's freely accessible to anyone visiting Cromo Cloud.

The Creator plan removes the pattern limit and gives you control over how each pattern is shared. You can publish a pattern for free — anyone visiting Cromo Cloud can open it — or restrict it with access codes that only paying crocheters can use1.

Creator-only features#

A few advanced features are available on the Creator plan only:

Text on the canvas
Type text directly onto your pattern and it's automatically converted to stitches. Choose from over 400 fonts.
Image import
Drop an image into any region of your pattern. Cromo Cloud scans it and converts it to a stitch pattern.
Annotations
Add remarks or additional instructions at specific points in the pattern. When a crocheter reaches that point in CromoViewer, the note pops up.
Lightening
Convert a solid stitch area to alternating single and double crochet stitches — a quick way to give a denser design a lighter, airier feel.
Multiple pattern parts
Bundle several designs or variations into a single Cromo Cloud pattern. The crocheter picks which part or variation to open in CromoViewer.

Signing up#

After creating an account to access Cromo Cloud, you are automatically subscribed to the Free plan, which gives access to CromoViewer. Update to the paid plan of your choice: click your username in the upper right corner of the Cromo Cloud window, select 'My subscription' and click Upgrade.

  1. Cromo Cloud handles access — not payments. For sales on Ravelry, Cromo Cloud connects directly to your shop and grants access to buyers automatically; no codes needed. For sales elsewhere (your own shop, social media), you generate an access code on Cromo Cloud and share it with each buyer after they pay.
