Pattern variations#
When you edit the detail page of your pattern in Cromo Cloud, you'll find an Add pattern parts button at the bottom of the page. Adding a second part or variation to the same pattern makes a dropdown box appear on the pattern detail page.
How crocheters use it#
The crocheter first selects a variation from the dropdown, then clicks Open in CromoViewer to crochet that specific variation — or that part of the pattern, if the pattern consists of multiple parts. Likewise, Open in CromoDesigner opens a separate design for each part.
Starting a new part#
When you add a new part, you can either:
- Start from scratch — for a pattern made up of several different parts.
- Start from a copy of the previous part — for providing several slightly different variations of the same pattern.
Example: light and solid versions
One nice use of variations is the Lightening option, which gives a solid pattern a lighter, airier feel. Provide both as two variations of the same pattern, and the crocheter can choose whichever they prefer.
